Audio Book

When Wendy Mitchell was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 58, she had to say good-bye to the woman she once was. Her career in the NHS, her ability to drive, cook and run - the various shades of her independence - were suddenly gone. Yet Wendy was determined not to give in. She was, and still is, propelled by a need to live in the moment, never knowing which version of herself might surface tomorrow.

Book for children

A book, titles Mr Alzheimers, has been released into five schools in Salford, to teach children about alzheimer's and dementia. The idea for 'Mr Alzheimers' was created by Joy Watson, who had first created a teddy for her children to teach them about what is happening to their granny.

George Rook - Blog

Patient activist, Chair Shropshire Dementia Action Alliance, Influencer for change in healthcare, and I have dementia at 63!

I need to explore the ethics and morality of aspects of dementia in order to justify my views on some things. I have opposed the use of pretend bus stops in hospitals, or shops in care homes, that are installed to improve, in some way, the living experience. Read more my blog.

Agnes was diagnosed with dementia in her 50's. Five years have passed and she is still struggling with her new identity, and for the loss of who she once was. We follow Agnes in her quest for renewal and along the way our notions of what it means to have dementia are changed and given a new perspective. A film about friendship and living with dementia.
